Riesling is Germany's most successful grape for quality and quantity. The Pfalz region's wines are richer and riper than others found in Mosel, Rheingau and Nahe. The next most popular grape is the Dornfelder. This grape variety is a red wine variety created in 1956 and has become popular throughout Germany. It's beautiful in color and aroma. Other grapes grown here are Muller-Thurgau and Portugieser.
